Submit Lightning Talk

Who can submit a lightning talk?

Any student (graduate and undergraduate), postdoctoral fellow, or research staff member at any institution can submit a lightning talk. This is a great venue for junior scientists to share new and exciting findings in a very concise format.

Lightning talks are very short rapid-fire talks by students, postdocs, and research staff. Talks are only 5 minutes followed by Q&A. Speakers are only allowed 1 slide in PDF format with no animations, conveying one (and only one) key finding.

Not all lightning talk submissions can be accommodated and priority will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis. If we exceed capacity limitations, speakers who cannot be accommodated in the lightning talk sessions will be asked to present a poster instead. All submissions will still be evaluated for content and quality and submission is not a guarantee of a presentation or poster slot.

Registration for speakers

All lightning talk speakers will have to register for the meeting and cover their own travel and lodging expenses.
